The Bestseller Series: how we compare our prices with the Irish market

Every car on our site is priced all-in — the car, VAT, customs duty, VRT, transport and our fee. What you see is what you pay to have the car here in ROI, in your name, on Irish plates. Because our price is the final price, it can be compared directly with what Irish forecourts are asking. So every week, we compare.

What we do

Each week we record the asking price of every listing on Ireland's largest car marketplace for the makes, models and years we stock — tens of thousands of Irish listings. For any model and year with 10 or more Irish listings we take the median asking price: the middle of the market, which ignores freak highs and lows. Where the data allows, we also match one of our cars directly against a specific comparable Irish listing — same model, same year, same specification.

The badges

When our all-in price is at least €2,500 below the Irish market for that model and year, the car carries a Bestseller badge. At €5,000 or more it becomes a #1 Bestseller. The badge always shows the euro figure, so you can see exactly what staying in Ireland would cost you.

We don't ask you to take our word for it. Every badge links to the full working for that car: how many Irish listings the comparison is based on, the week it was measured, and the arithmetic line by line.

We keep it conservative

The Irish figures are asking prices; ours is the final price — so the real gap is, if anything, larger than the badge says. And we do not adjust for mileage or specification. We measured both: our cars average slightly higher mileage (worth about €585 per 10,000 km in the Irish market) and slightly higher specification (worth about €765). The two cancel to within about €55, so we compare prices exactly as listed.

What it means for you

You can spot genuine value at a glance instead of researching one car at a time. Thousands of cars qualify at any given moment — and because the best-value cars sell quickly, pairing the badges with our email alerts gives you the earliest possible look at them.
